Okay, let us start off by saying we are completely biased, we live in the Cotswolds. So yes it is the most beautiful place to live in England. If you have not yet paid a visit to the lovely sleepy villages within the cotswolds it is about time you did. Let us share our favourite places to visit with you.
Bourton-on-the-Water
Lets start with the best first. Bourton-on-the-Water is called home to us and to others its called the Venice of the Cotswolds. A village packed full of a motor museum, small model village and a bird park. The home to bakery on the water and The den ( best coffee in the village)
2. Lower Slaughter
A stones throw away from Bourton-on-the-Water sees you in Lower Slaughter, home of the slaughter manor and lower slaughter inn. This super small village lays host to a windmill and museum and that's about it. Still this village sees thousands flock there every year for their picturesque cottages and Instagram backdrops.
3. Arlington Row, Bibury
This 14th century row of house is Grade 1 listed by the national trust meaning they remain beautiful and untouched as they did years ago. Parking is free which goes along way and the swan hotel just down the roads provides comfort by an open fire.
4. Stow On The Wold
The home of the Tolkein inspired door, a beautiful door at the side of Stows church. One of those things if you know it is there then you do, however a lot of people don't realise it's there.Make sure to pay a visit to coach house coffee.
5. Broadway Tower
Broadway tower is worth a 2 hour visit if you have time. Recently renovated which means you now how to pay for parking (cash only for £3) its worth a visit for the views alone. Did we also mention there's deer here? So come with yourself, or the kids get a hot chocolate and come for a walk.
6. Chipping Camden
This is a village where you need to walk out the main town bit to see the good stuff. These cottages look like something out of 'the holiday' the film with Jack black. Such quaint little houses that need to be photographed.
