Adventures of a Family of Three: Exploring the World with Our Little One
Like we mentioned in our original bio we are never one to write a negative review and try to remain on the positive side of things. However we want to be authentic and honest and we want to share with you the good and also the bad. This was a stay I was itching to stay at, I had seen pictures via Canopyandstars and well it looked amazing. We decided to stay here in March and with it being back home we decided to take along my niece and nephew.
So lets start from the beginning, it was easy to find with good directions. However when we booked I booked a certain truffle (for photography reasons) to be told that's not the one we are staying at and sent towards a different one.
Yeah, that's fine but we would appreciate the one we booked. With your stay you get a bucket of fire wood and a camp stove. All the extras happened to be more
Straight off the bat, the place looks good. They have done a beautiful job with the set up and the shower block. It was the small bits like the extra payment with logs (first time we had to pay for it) we ended up spending another £30.00 on logs alone.
My main downside on this was the extra costs, the lack of heat coming from the fire meant we spent both nights freezing. Even with hot water bottles and extra clothes the peanut itself just isn't insultated and with children I highly suggest not visiting here in the colder months.
I think the main thing is also privacy we got put in the truffle closest to the shower block which meant full view of any other guests staying there.
Now, the owner did say it was only their first season. So I hope they realise that charging for logs in the colder months is ridiculous. Mostly its the little things, pop a little tea caddy in the truffle or just think of the little touches.
I hope that in the summer they leave from experience and this place blossoms as it has the potential to do.
One of the perks - the hammocks the inside and out! The children loved these!
Visually the truffle is beautiful! We loved the windows - good for looking out for owls!
Each truffles includes their own kitchen and seating area
